A New Street For The Twilight Art Walk

June 18, 2010 marked a brand new side to the Rogers, Arkansas Downtown Twilight Art Walk.

Usually First Street and Walnut Street are filled with Vendors and a few Local Artist on the third Friday of each month. But on this Friday, Second Street awoke and became alive thanks to local business Copy King and the FEN3X Art Group.

Up coming Artist Kris Rogers, Steve Seratt, and Billy Hobbs showed off what they have been working on and their Art took the Art Walk by storm.

Many local Artist have been using the Friday Twilight Walks to show themselves off for a couple years now and helped make the event what it has become, but no one was ready for the FEN3X Art Group and it's ability to draw a crowd.

Anyone who knows Kris Rogers knows that he always excels at any adventure he chooses to take on. All of us that have grown up in Rogers, Ar knows that Kris was one of the first and best Skateboarders, Has always been an Artist of many mediums, loves Nature and backpacking, and he has became a great father and role model for his two children. He has always been an intelligent individual.

The picture to the right probably looks familiar to anyone that has ever had the chance to meet Kris. This is one of his first prints that he made during his off time at an unnamed print shop that he worked at right before he graduated High School.

Mastermind Kris Rogers decided to number and sign many of these prints and used them as a free advertising gimmick to bring people from First Street over to the FEN3X art group on Second Street.

It was a great idea that worked. Many friends and his son Zane Rogers walked the streets handing out the free prints and telling them all about the art just a block away. You should have seen the ladies melt as Zane told them about his Daddy's art and how he was following in his foot steps as a Skateboarder. Perfect heart-felt advertising.

Kris Rogers creativity has influenced many more people to be more artistic and the proof is on FaceBook. Many local artist have posted pictures on the FEN3X Art Group page and hopefully many of them will join the New Second Street Rogers Crony Show. We will just have to wait and see. :)

This last photo is an example of some of Kris's art. I say "Some" because this guy has never stopped creating. His house is like walking through his personal gallery and there still is not enough wall space. Check out his FaceBook Page for his nature photos and other paintings he has done. I promise you that you will be impressed.

I would like to welcome everyone to come out next month and check out what local Artist have been doing and help support them. This month was a big hit, but next month will even be better.

See You All There,
Greg
